Maybel's little world is becoming rather luxurious!
Following the completion of her Gothic throne, I decided it was time for something a little different. Something elegant, dramatic and wonderfully Victorian. And so began my latest 3D printing adventure — a beautiful miniature chaise longue.
I chose a striking combination of black and red, with an ornate black frame and rich red upholstery. The design features graceful curved arms, delicate decorative legs and a beautifully button-tufted backrest. Just the sort of furniture I imagined belonging in a mysterious Victorian drawing room.
Of course, things didn't go entirely to plan!
My first attempt turned out far too small for Maybel. A rather amusing discovery, although not quite the result I was hoping for! Back to the printer we went, this time with the dimensions adjusted to accommodate her properly.
The red upholstered section was printed separately, followed by the ornate black frame. Watching the individual pieces come together was particularly satisfying, especially when all those lovely Victorian details began to emerge.
And finally, it was finished!
I placed Maybel on her new chaise longue, dressed in her sweet red tartan outfit, and I couldn't have been happier with the result. The colours complement each other beautifully, and the finished piece has exactly the dramatic Gothic character I was hoping to achieve.
There's something quite magical about being able to create miniature furniture like this. An idea becomes a digital model, the printer slowly brings it into the real world, and before long Maybel has another beautiful addition to her growing collection.
With her Gothic throne and now her Victorian chaise longue, her little world is beginning to take shape.
I'm still very much at the beginning of my 3D printing journey, and there's plenty to learn along the way. But each successful creation makes me more excited about the possibilities for Woven Witch Miniatures.
For now, Maybel has a lovely new place to sit, and I have another little creation that makes me smile.
