My First Woven Witch Cardigan.

There are some creations that become more than the sum of their stitches. My first cardigan will always be one of them.

This was the first garment I completed under the name Woven Witch, and with every row it became a symbol of the journey I had begun. What started as yarn and a crochet hook slowly transformed into something I could wear with pride, reminding me that patience and perseverance can create something truly beautiful.

As with every handmade piece, there were moments of uncertainty. I made mistakes, unravelled sections and started again when things weren't quite right. Those moments taught me that craftsmanship isn't about perfection the first time; it's about taking the time to create something worthy of being finished.

When I finally slipped the cardigan on for the first time, I felt an overwhelming sense of achievement. The rich autumn colours, soft texture and flowing stitches came together in a way I had only imagined while it was still a collection of separate pieces. Seeing it in natural daylight was even more magical, as the sunlight revealed every shade of purple, rust, amber and warm earth tones woven throughout the yarn.

This cardigan is more than my first handmade garment. It represents the beginning of a dream. It gave me the confidence to continue creating, to design future collections, and to believe that Woven Witch could become something real.

Whenever I wear it, I am reminded of where this journey began. It has kept me warm on windy days, accompanied me on quiet walks, and reminded me that every finished piece starts with a single stitch.

No matter how many cardigans I make in the future, this one will always have a special place in my heart. It is my first Woven Witch cardigan, the foundation upon which everything else will grow.
